Debris of the Sun
Anton Logov
26.10.2022 – 26.11.2022

This exhibition is about the consequences of civilizational catastrophes for the world. About changes in thinking about the Earth and the Sun. "Debris of the Sun" is a metaphor for the breaking of eras. It's when you look for light in complete darkness, you don't lose hope to move forward despite all the obstacles.
Today it is impossible to abstract from thoughts about war. All my works were created during the time when the full-scale invasion was going on - it is an outlet of energy, it is a certain message to the world. Just now, a historical struggle for my land and future is taking place. What could be more important? Therefore, I am fully focused on Ukraine's struggle for independence, on establishing its place in the world. Now every minute can be decisive. You can't miss a moment!
In this project I combine graphics and painting. Graphics almost cancel out materiality. And the color and plastic texture of enamel work in painting. Color is the litmus of our contrasting reality. The disk of the Sun is a sacred form that appears yellow, red, white, blue, and black in the plane of the canvases. The soft magma of color is punctuated by graphic aerosol dots. Abstraction is always indefinite, comprehensive, ambiguous. We see the paint and the surface, it is metaphorical and generalizing. It gives space for the personal ideas of the viewer, who can push away from the image I offer and wander with thoughts and emotions in a personal space.
